Well. Your suggestion sounds plausible. But the fact that MOST people climb their bikes from the left side does - as far as I am concerned - prevent the chain from being on the left side of the bike. Does it? But thanks anyway. HimSelf. |

Hi Gunnar, I believe the reason that bicycle chains are on the right is that there are more people that are right-handed (and therefore right-footed), and it is usual to 'push off' using the right foot. Perhaps we could make a fortune by inventing a 'left-handed (footed)' bicycle?. |
